Smashing records: Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition becomes profitable in an hour
Posted on May 10, 2012 by Paige Carlson

With over 100,000 copies sold and over 400,000 unique player entries on the scoreboard, Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition on Xbox Live Arcade became profitable in just an hour of its release. The adventure game Minecraft: Xbox360 by Mojang was released on May 9 and broke the previous sales record held by Trails Evolution which was released in April.

The new Minecraft offers large new worlds to explore and a multiplayer with much less lag. Though it’s been reported that the enemies can get annoying, there is the option to play without the threat of being attacked. And with a tutorial mode, gameplay becomes much more accessible with added features such as items automatically being created as you collect the necessary materials.

Markus Persson (@Notch), owner of Mojang, tweeted about the sales numbers:

How has your Diablo III experience been so far?

Absolutely horrible with all the lag, Error 37s, and server downtime. Screw you Blizzard for making me wait so long for this.
Started off bad, but I've been having a lot of fun with it.
THIS IS THE GREATEST GAME EVER!!!
