Finally meet the newest assassin, Connor, in first gameplay trailer
Posted on May 10, 2012 by OG

Earlier in the week, Ubisoft started a campaign to get gamers to promote Assassin's Creed III via Facebook and Twitter to unlock the game's first gameplay trailer.  Today, that trailer was released and we finally are introduced to the our new hero, Connor.

A couple of things to note in the trailer.  It appears that Connor will be a part of various battles between the British and Americans, but not directly as it seems he's making his way through the battlefield away from the action.  In the woods, Connor appears to have a hook of some sort to grab enemies as he stands above them on a tree limb, so that he can pull them up off the ground to hang them.  There is a bear in the trailer, although I'm not sure if you'll actually fight wildlife.  Connor also can use enemies as human shields, something different than previous AC games as guns weren't in use during those time periods.  Later in the trailer, some of the action takes place in a city which resembles the free running in previous games although it looks like you can actually run through one window and out another which is different from previous games as the buildings didn't have entrances unless there was a mission in a particular building.

From what I can tell in the trailer, Ubisoft is evolving the game instead of it being Assassin's Creed 2.5.

Is crowd funding the way of the future?

Absolutely. It gives power to the gamers by letting them pay for the games they want to see.
Nope. Crowd sourcing will be fine for a year or two until too many developers do not follow through with their games and waste our money.
