Since 2005, Blizzard Entertainment has been holding BlizzCon to get all their fans in one place to meet. Actually, it was more of a World of Warcraft convention with a few Starcraft fans added into the mix. That was until last year when Starcraft II took center stage as the Global Starcraft II League held its finals during Blizzcon 2011. Fans of both games, and the "maybe" soon to be released Diablo III, will have to wait a year to meet with each other for some friendly cosplaying. Blizzard Entertainment has announced that there will not be a Blizzcon for 2012. If you’re working on that Panda outfit in celebration of the World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria, you got another year to perfect it.
Instead, Blizzard Entertainment will hold the 2012 Battle.net World Championship Event in some place in Asia - seriously that what they say - and will focus on Starcraft II and World of Warcraft Arena tournaments. That’s right World of Warcraft fans, you’re now the unwanted stepchildren to Blizzard, replaced by eSports fans.
