Shadows of the Damned receives release date
Posted on March 03, 2011 by Wayne

With the sheer number of media resources available at one's disposal in today's society, it comes as no surprise that developers are using websites like Twitter to post announcements. Japanese developer Grasshopper Manufacture had announced a June 7 release date for its newest title: Shadows of the Damned. Although little information is available, the game will incorporate psychological elements, which is no surprise considering the fact it is being supervised by Shinji Mikami who is the man behind the Resident Evil franchise. This marks the first time that EA is publishing a title by a Japanese developer. Players will assume the role of Garcia Hotspur who goes to hell in order to save his lover. There was no territory specified with the release date, and there was no mention of the platforms with the announcement. However, the Playstation 3 and XBOX 360 consoles were specifically mentioned during TGS. This project is interesting in light of two different globally situated developers and publishers coming together. With Resident Evil lingering in the background, there is question surrounding the amount of influence the series will have on the title.

Is crowd funding the way of the future?

Absolutely. It gives power to the gamers by letting them pay for the games they want to see.
Nope. Crowd sourcing will be fine for a year or two until too many developers do not follow through with their games and waste our money.
