After crawling through the jungle for El Dorado, climbing the Himalayas for the lost treasure of Marco Polo, Nathan Drake is at it again, this time searching the scorching deserts of Rub’ al Khali in Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. In Entertainment Weekly’s latest issue, Naughty Dog’s main writer Amy Hennig talks a bit about how the idea of dumping Nathan in the desert came to be:When we first came up with the idea of sand, you see everyone’s eyes light up here and go, ‘Yeah, that’s going to be really hard let’s do it!
Co-president Even Wells adds his two cents and says U3 will aim to take on the big boys of multi-player:We’re a bunch of nerds. We just look for something that will be a technical, artistic challenge, and allowed us to push into an area of the world and history we’ve never tapped into before. We want to take on the big boys of the multi-player genre. It has become something here at Naughty Dog that will become an important part to all our games."
Uncharted 3 will get a world premire reveal trailer this Saturday night on Spike’s VGAs. Until then here’s a teaser to get you excited for Nathan’s next adventure:
