Raymond confirms Splinter Cell 6 under production
Posted on November 27, 2010 by Roy

In a short video announcement, Managing Director Jade Raymond has confirmed that Splinter Cell 6 has begun production in Ubisoft’s brand new Toronto studio.

We’re working on Splinter Cell 6, the next iteration of the blockbuster franchise, and we’re doing it entirely here in Toronto. Within the next 10 years we plan to ramp up [the Toronto] studio to at least 800 people, and we’re ahead of schedule on that, explains Raymond about the new studio and the first 83 workers to be employed there.

Gamers might remember Raymond as a producer for the first Assassins Creed and as the person promoting the game at the time. To watch the video, click on the bottom of the link to see what she has to say. Personally, I was never into the Splinter Cell games, so maybe this is the one that will convert me.

Is crowd funding the way of the future?

Absolutely. It gives power to the gamers by letting them pay for the games they want to see.
Nope. Crowd sourcing will be fine for a year or two until too many developers do not follow through with their games and waste our money.
