SBO Blazeblue: Continuum Shift U.S. Qualifier Videos

Super Battle Opera (Tougeki) is the most prestigious tournament in the world for fighting games. Taking place in Japan, SBO has the best in the world come to compete on several arcade games. This year's lineup includes Street Fighter IV (3 on 3), Tekken 6 Bloodline Rebellion (3 on 3), Blazblue: Continuum Shift (2 on 2), Arcana Heart 3 (2 on 2), King of Fighters 2002UM (1 on 1), Virtua Fighter 5R (3 on 3), Guilty Gear AC (3 on 3), Street Fighter 3: Third Strike (3 on 3), Sengoku Basara X (1 on 1), and SSF2 Super Turbo (3 on 3). SBO 2010 will take place on September 18-19 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba City, Japan.

On July 31st at Arcade UFO in Austin, TX hosted the SBO Blazeblue: Continuum Shift U.S. Qualifier. Blazblue'rs came from all over the U.S. to compete for 2 tickets to Japan to compete against the best. The winners were GMMA_Jan and Hsien Chang who are both from Houston and Austin, respectively. You can see the exciting final round here:

And after the tournament, we spoke with Arcade UFO owner Fubarduck about how his arcade was chosen to run the Super Battle Opera Blazblue: Continuum Shift U.S. Qualifier, how he thinks the winners will do in Japan, and what's in store for his Japanese arcade, Arcade UFO:
