Daigo's Golden Stick Not Stolen
Posted on July 12, 2010 by OG

After his win and becoming Evo 2010 Super Street Fighter IV champion, word got out that Daigo Umehara's golden tournament edition arcade stick made by Mad Catz was stolen. Word about this theft came from the Capcom_Unity Twitter:

Person who stole Daigo's fight stick is weaksauce. If you had skills, you could just try to beat him.

That turned out to be a little early on the accusations as Mad Catz Associate Product Manager, Mark Julio, cleared things up on his twitter:

I'm flying home with Daigo's gold TE stick (Numbered 1 of 24), his EVO medals, and his SSFIV trophy, lol. Gonna send it to him later.

Mark Julio would be the one to know for sure if any one of these golden arcade sticks was stolen as he was the one passing them out to the winners. It appears that the champion has all his prizes in order to put alongside his countless other trophies cementing him as the greatest Street Fighter player.

Is crowd funding the way of the future?

Absolutely. It gives power to the gamers by letting them pay for the games they want to see.
Nope. Crowd sourcing will be fine for a year or two until too many developers do not follow through with their games and waste our money.
