Capcom gives details on second SFV beta test and reveals Laura
Posted on October 08, 2015 by Oscar Gonzalez

Last week, Japanese gaming magazine, Famitsu, accidently leaked images of a new Street Fighter V character, Laura. A new trailer made its way to YouTube today, which is the same day Capcom announced their plans for the second SFV beta test.

Unlike previous Street Fighter characters from Brazil (Blanka and Sean), Laura actually uses a martial art developed in Brazil. That martial art is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Similar to Abel in SFIV, Laura's grapples are part of her combos.

Since Capcom just revealed Laura, she will not be part of the second SFV beta test. Starting on Oct. 22 and ending on Oct. 25, the SFV beta test will start up again, but this time, PC and PS4 players can compete against each other in cross-platform play. Unfortunately, PC player will have to wait until Oct. 24 to start playing.

Previously announced characters, Rashid and Karin, will make their appearance in the second beta test. Rashid will be available on Oct. 23 while Karin can be used on Oct. 24. Aside from those two, the lineup will consist of Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Cammy, Birdie, Nash, M. Bison, Necalli, Vega and R. Mika.

Other new additions to the beta are ranked matchmaking, leaderboards and Fight Money Unlockables. Matchmaking and leaderboards is nothing new to the franchise, but using Fight Money is. Players acquire Fight Money while playing and can be used to unlock titles as well as the Kanzuki Estate stage. Capcom stated that while Fight Money Unlockables are available in the beta, it won't necessarily reflect the unlockables in the final game.

Street Fighter V launches on the PC and PS4 in Spring 2016.
