Posted on December 07, 2013 by

November was an eventful month for the Playstation brand. Not only did some of the most anticipated games come out for the PS3 during the month, it also saw the launch of the next generation of Playstation, the PS4. Not to mention a really strong showing for the Vita as it saw its own releases as well. With such a diverse selection of games released on across three systems, the top 20 downloads should be an interesting look.

Since the PS4 has launched, it will have two section of the top 20 most popular games: one with digital upgrades (i.e. upgraded from PS3 to PS40 and one without digital upgrades (i.e. PSN download):

Evn though next gen is here, the PS3  isn't slowing down anytime soon. With the release of boh Call of Duty Ghosts and Battlefield 4, GTA V dropped down to the number three spot. And just like the PS4 list, there are some heavy hitters on the PS3 top 20:

While most would love to count the Vita out, November was a really strong month for the system. With Media Molecule's new paper friends in Tearaway, XSEED's Ys: Memories of Celceta and Killzone Mercenary being the most talked about games, the Vita (to me at least) is starting to hit its stride as even more games are coming out for PS3 and PS4's little brother. November was also a great month for Playstation Classics as several games ranging from Metal Gear Solid and Fatal Frame to Final Fantasy VII and Bully were downloaded:

PS Vita

  1. Tearaway
  2. Ys: Memories of Celceta
  3. Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition
  4. CastleStorm
  5. Killzone: Mercenary
  6. Persona 4 Golden
  7. Real Boxing
  8. Guacamelee!
  9. ULTIMATE MARVEL VS. CAPCOM 3
  10. Need for Speed Most Wanted

Classics

  1. Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly
  2. Fatal Frame
  3. Metal Gear Solid (PS3/PSP)
  4. FINAL FANTASY VII (PS3/PSP/PS Vita)
  5. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
  6. Crash Bandicoot (PS3/PSP)
  7. FINAL FANTASY IX (PS3/PSP/PS Vita)
  8. Bully
  9. FINAL FANTASY VIII (PS3/PSP/PS Vita)
  10. Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FES

Lastly it seems people have been downloading games/apps from the Playstation Mobile brand. It's a good idea to look into that section of the store once in a while because you may never know what next indie hit will come from there. With the release of a new Ys game on the Vita and the announcements of new Persona games, PSP games have been getting some attention as well:

PlayStation Mobile

  1. Sola Radio
  2. Beats Trellis
  3. Bloodred Wyvern
  4. Cytus Lambda
  5. Scientific Electronic Calculator

PSP

  1. YS: SEVEN
  2. Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 Portable
  3. Star Wars: Battlefront II
  4. Ys: The Oath in Felghana
  5. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories
