After the events of Batman: Arkham City, gamers were expecting a new Batman title but weren't quite sure if a sequel could be made. Today, it has been announced that there indeed will be a new Batman title, but it will not be a sequel.
Batman: Arkham Origins will be set towards the beginning of Batman's career as a crime fighter. In this game, on Christmas Eve, the Dark Knight will d battle with 8 of DC's most deadly assassins as he tries to save Gotham City. During this game, players will experience how Batman met many of his iconic villains, and the encounters that defined their relationships.
A trailer hosted by Game Informer has some of the developers at Warner Bros. Games Montreal discuss their intentions with the new installment in the franchise.
Batman: Arkham Origins will be available on October 25, 2013 for the PS3, Xbox 360, PC, and Wii U. Another title, known as Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate will also be available on October 25 for the 3DS and PS Vita. Not much is known about the portable title other than it will be a 2.5-D sidescroller.
Anyone who can't wait for the upcoming title can find more information from it off Game Informer's website. As for me, I'm just stoked Deathstroke is finally going to be in a game.
UPDATE: The images from Game informer have shown up on the web. In the images we see some of Batman's foes including Deathstroke, Black Mask, and The Penguin.
