Ouya: the biggest console launch library
Posted on March 27, 2013 by Drew Bergmark

A couple of days ago, I reported about the Ouya being an emulation console and while that is true there are a ton of games that are going to be coming out for the Android device. Tomorrow, Ouyas get shipped out to Kickstarter backers and the newest console will have the largest launch library ever. While the public won't be able to purchase the system at retail until June unless you want to shell out $600 on eBay, Kickstarter backers for the Ouya have the potential of purchasing 586 games.

I was going to type out the entire list of games but I decided against it for very obvious reasons. I'd like to clarify before people question in the comments: not all of the games will be ready for launch as some developers just started coding their games last month. Most consoles launch with two or three dozen games at best. Instead of comprising a list of all the games, I decided to make a list of notable games that we are currently aware of that will come out on the Ouya during 2013.

  • Broken Age - Double Fine and Two Player Productions
  • The Cave - Double Fine Productions
  • Fez - Polytron Corporation
  • Final Fantasy III - Square Enix
  • Shadowrun Online - Cliffhanger Productions
  • The Bard's Tale - inXile Productions

Canabalt, Madden NFL 12 & Minecraft were shown in the original pitch video but none of the developers have confirmed ports to the Ouya according to the Ouya Forum. Are there any big Ouya titles that I missed? Is there a game you or someone you know that is working on the Ouya? Yes, there is a Megaman game on the list but it is not officially a Capcom title. I'm going to be getting my Ouya this week since I was a backer and I'm looking to review some games. To get into touch with me, my email is below.
