Skullgirls developer offers engine to Mane6
Posted on March 17, 2013 by Oscar Gonzalez

Lab Zero Games, the team behind Skullgirls, is offering the Skullgirls engine to Mane6 for their upcoming fighting game. That is, if enough money is raised.

In a tweet from the official Lab Zero Games Twitter account, the Skullgirls engine will be available to Mane6 if the Skullgirls Indiegogo campaign reaches $725,000:

Mane6 responded to the tweet on their site:

"We've talked directly to them, and we can now confirm that yes, it is a serious offer, and one we in the devteam are excited about."

Last month, Mane6 was given a Cease & Desist letter by Hasboro, owners of the My Little Pony franchise. At the beginning of March, Mane6 stated that talks with Hasboro had come to a dead end thus killing the game. However, they are still working on a fighting game that will feature new characters and a new setting. They even have the help of Lauren Faust, one of the people behind the creation of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

The Skullgirls' Indiegogo campaign started on Feb. 25th with the goal of raising $150,000 for a new DLC character. With 11 days to go, the campaign is sitting at $424,700 with a second DLC character already funded. Donations to the project can be made at the Skullgirls’ Indiegogo page.

What do you think of #Gamergate?

There's a problem in the industry that is being covered up by those with the loudest voices.
It's nothing but a bunch of misogynists hating that women are talking about games.
Can't we all just get along?
