Connecticut considering tax on video games
Posted on February 05, 2013 by Oscar Gonzalez

Connecticut State Representative Debralee Hovey, who represents the district where Sandy Hook Elementary is located in, has proposed a bill to add a 10% to video games that carry the mature rating.
Representative Hovey said that she would like to see the money from the tax to be used by the state to pay for mental health services.
Connecticut is the second state to propose such a tax on violent video games since the Sandy Hook shooting. In January, Missouri State Representative Diane Franklin also proposed a tax on violent video games, but of only 1%.
