The Walking Dead Game gets disc release and collector's edition
Posted on October 22, 2012 by Nickolai Niver

Anybody who doesn't have means of acquiring a digital console copy of the famous The Walking Dead game series, or those who simply want a hard copy of their favorite games, will be in for an undead surprise this Christmas season.   The Walking Dead will be coming to PS3 and Xbox 360 on December 4th this year for $29.99. Also, there's a collector's edition.

Actually, this collector's edition is pretty intense. Anyone willing to shell out $70 (that's more than twice of what the original product costs) can pre-order Gamestop's exclusive collector's edition. Inside this heralded collector's edition are the following items:

  • The Walking Dead Compendium One featuring exclusive Charlie Adlard cover art. Over 1,000 pages collecting the first 48 issues of Robert Kirkman's award-winning comic book series. (Standard edition of the first compendium without special edition artwork valued at an MSRP of $59.99 USD. This Collector's Edition of the Compendium will not be sold separately.)
  • Collector's Edition box with Charlie Adlard artwork
  • Game disc containing the entire first season including Episodes 1 through 5

Those of you who read that last bullet will have noticed that episodes 1-5 are on the disc.  Everyone else who has the digital copy might be dreading the idea that Telltale Games is waiting to release the last chapter with the physical copy.  Well, good news, the final chapter is scheduled to come out sometime in November.  While we don't have the exact date, November does come before December which means that, at latest, the update will be launched on November 30th.
