Zombies go on tour in the Black Ops 2 Zombie reveal trailer, multiplayer modes explained
Posted on September 26, 2012 by

After several teaser videos from a past few weeks, Treyarch has finally revealed the one mode that everyone has been dying for, Zombies, in the brand new reveal trailer set to the brand new zombie song provided by Avenge Sevenfold:

In addition to the trailer, Treyarch also had a press release sent out detailing some of the changes that was made to Zombies. The first obvious change is that now Zombies has its own self contained campaign called Tranzit. Here players can experience Zombies in a whole new way in an open world environment. Areas play like traditional Zombies, but getting to new areas is what makes it different. Players can choose to use the ghost bus to transport them from place to place, offering speed, but sacrificing mobility and room. As shown in the trailer, the zombies will run after the bus and try to make they're way in. Or the players can be bold and brave the journey on foot through the fog. While this gives players more room to escape, there is no cover for them to hunker down in when the horde comes in full force, quickly surrounding them

The next mode that Treyarch went over was the traditional Zombie Mode, now called Survival. While there are no drastic changes to gameplay, it will still feature the same power ups and items that made the game popular and fun, such as pack a punch machines and other status boosting drinks.

New to Zombies is a mode called Grief. Or as the developers like to call it 4z4. This mode pits two teams of humans against the horde of Zombies in the Tranitz world. Whoever is the last team standing wins. While the human teams can't kill each other, they can use the environment against each other, including Zombies, to cause grief for each other, hence the name of the mode.

Modes were not the only changes that Treyarch made to Zombies. Stat tracking, leaderboards, improved matchmaking and the ability to make custom games all have been added in to the Zombie experience.

As I mentioned in my multiplayer impressions of Black Ops 2, the game looked fun and I will be definitely playing, though it might not be a day one for me. After seeing this trailer and all the new changes that are coming to Zombies, I think I may have a change of heart and pick it up when it releases.

What do you think of #Gamergate?

There's a problem in the industry that is being covered up by those with the loudest voices.
It's nothing but a bunch of misogynists hating that women are talking about games.
Can't we all just get along?
