DayZ to receive standalone release

It was only a few months ago that the DayZ mod for ArmA II was released giving players an open world with almost no rules to let them create their own narrative on how they would handle the zombie apocalypse. Since then, the mod has grown by leaps and bounds reaching over a million unique players recently, and has kept ArmA II on the top of the sales charts on Steam. Announced today by mod creator and project lead, Dean "Rocket" Hall, DayZ will now receive its own standalone release.
No details for the standalone release has been given, but updates will be posted on the new official site for the game, DayZgame.com.
