In this week's Famitsu, FF XIII-2 producer Yoshinori Kitase has revealed more details about FF XIII's Lightning Saga. In the interview he reveals that Square Enix will be making an announcement about Lightning Saga at the company's event at the end of the month. So far all he had to say on the matter is that the project has just started up and the official name of the title will be announced at the event.
Just with this news alone, will have both sides of the fandom in either very angry or very excited. We knew that SE had some plans with Lighting after her DLC story, Requiem of the Goddess. It was also speculated that SE wanted to expand Lightning's story through either more DLC, novels, or through another game after the launch of her DLC and was mentioned in the FF XIII-2 Ultimania Omega strategy guide/art book. We won't know the fate of the FF XIII series or of Lightning until the 25th anniversary event.
