Over $100,000 up for grabs at Evo 2012

The Evo Championship series is the yearly event where fighting game players comes from all over the world to compete, and this year, the pot got a little bigger.  Thanks to prize money from sponsors  and entry fees, there is over $100,000 of pure cash for the best of the best to win.  Here's the breakdown between all the games along with approximate entry numbers for each:

-  $25,000 Super Street Fighter IV, Arcade Edition 2012 (1536 entries)

-  $23,000 Mortal Kombat 9 (291 entries)

-  $15,000 Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (1248 entries)

-  $15,000 for Sega’s Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown event (this game is not an official game of Evo, but will have a side tournament for players)

-  $11,000 King of Fighters XIII (1072 entries)

-  $9,000 Street Fighter X Tekken (896 entries)

-  $5,000 Soul Calibur V (414 entries)

 

Evo 2012 will be happening June 6-8 in Las Vegas Caesar's Palace on July 6-8.  This year will also be the debut of the Evo app for iOS and Android devices that will keep players up to date on the times of their games and tournament updates.  You can download the app here.
