Legendary film and anime director, Mamoru Oshii, and Capcom over the last few weeks have been teasing a live action trailer for the upcoming Kinect game Steel Battalion Heavy Armor titled Gosha. With the game going to be released next week, the trailer has been finally released. Before that though, Oshii would like to introduce the video:
And now for the live action trailer, Gosha:
The trailer is….interesting. Like the game, this trailer is showing not only the ongoing battle that they are in, but also the battle within their unit. The crew not only shows resentment of being led by a “green” CO, but they reinforce it even more due to the fact she is a female. I like the concept of what Oshii was trying to push, but trying to put all of that in a 3 minuet commercial is a waste of his talent. We all know what he is capable of producing. Capcom should have commissioned him to an actual short, like in the vein of Ghost Recon Future Solider or film it in parts like Dragon’s Dogma. The game is set to release next week on the 19th.
