Another harrowing Max Payne 3 production tale from Lazlow
Posted on May 22, 2012 by OG

Last week, Rockstar producer and host of GTA Chatterbox Radio, Lazlow Jones, went again on the Opie and Anthony Show on Sirius XM Radio to show off Rockstar's latest release, Max Payne 3.  As Lazlow discusses the nuances of the game, he tells the hosts more about his adventurous time in Sao Paolo, Brazil.

In March, we reported that Lazlow that come on the same show explaining the extensive security measures that were needed when visiting Sao Paolo which known for its many kidnappings.  The reason for their visit to Sao Paolo was to get authentic Portuguese dialect from the locals.

During the show, Lazlow talks about how one of the producers that was there to record the voices in Sao Paola received a distressing call, practically minutes after the production crew had landed.   The producer's mother had called in a panic to the producer saying that she had received a call that the producer had been kidnapped.  Lazlow explains that one of the scams that criminals do in Sao Paolo is to call family members of a person, say that the person has been kidnapped, and demand all the money and jewelry the family member has or else they'll kill that person.   Yet the criminals don't have the person, they're just looking for a way to get easy money.

Then on day 2, a casting crew member there to assist with the recordings received a message on Facebook that a friend of hers had been tied up and robbed in his home.  Luckily, the friend still had his mobile phone and was able to message the crew member.  Once the crew member received the message, she stopped the recording to call the police about the robbery.

So as you play your Max Payne 3, remember that some of the people of Rockstar risked their lives to give you the most authentic gaming experience.

You can find the full show below.  The Max Payne 3 talk starts at 1:51:00.

How has your Diablo III experience been so far?

Absolutely horrible with all the lag, Error 37s, and server downtime. Screw you Blizzard for making me wait so long for this.
Started off bad, but I've been having a lot of fun with it.
