A second mysterious and puzzling trailer for Metal Gear Rising has been released under the name, “Eye”. In this trailer we see more surgeons surrounding a bound Raiden as they start to extract his eye:
As we view what is going on through Raiden’s view point we see another flash back, possibly back to his days as a child soldier during the Liberian Civil War. Between this and the “Arm” trailer this is the first time we see more of Raiden’s past. In the flashback, we see three men interrogating/indoctrinating Raiden/Jack as a child. One of the men is unknown, the other is a doctor and the last one sitting at a desk is speculated to be George Sears aka Solidus Snake. Various methods of brainwashing and indoctrination are being used on the young Raiden/Jack as he snaps back into present when a figure is told to leave as Raiden isn’t ready. Each of the Metal Gear Solid games focused on some sort of theme: MGS was Gene, MGS2 was Meme, MGS3 was Scene and MGS4 was Sense. With these flashbacks Raiden is having and his transformation back into the cybernetic ninja, it will be interesting what theme the development team will go with, sans-Kojima.
