In this week’s issue of Famitsu, some details have been revealed about Resident Evil’s creator Shinji Mikami’s latest game project. In this issue, he reveals that the code name for his new project is called Zwei, and it delves back into what he is most known for, survival horror. In addition to the interview, a teaser site for the game has been launched with a concept image of what he is going for in style and the following message:
"Our latest project's codename is "Zwei" and it is a survival horror game. The above image is a collage of different environments we put together for this announcement and is intended to give a feel for the tone and the direction the production is taking. (However, neither the code name nor the image is intended to tell you exactly what is in the game.)
Mikami adds in that he has found his focus once again and that he is striving for pure survival horror. He will be very hands on with the game to see that game is of high quality and will be acting as executive director. I guess working with Suda 51 on the character and world design in Shadow of the Damned might have inspired him to come back to the survival horror genre.
