Street Fighter X Tekken producer, Yoshinori Ono, hospitalized (Update)
Posted on March 23, 2012 by OG

The man who has single-handedly brought back the fighting game genre has been hospitalized says Capcom's Japanese blog.  Yoshinori Ono, producer of Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter X Tekken, has fallen ill.  A translation of the blog states:

I would like to bring something else to everyone's attention. Shortly after the Street Fighter X Tekken promotion in Asia Ono-san's physical condition rapidly and heavily deteriorated and he had to be taken to the hospital.

Because of his hospital tenure he will not be performing work-related affairs for a while. Ono's well-being is very important to us and we wish for his steady recovery.

Ono, known for doing some heavy traveling around the world to promote his game, has been eerily quiet on his Twitter for a week where he normally tweets daily.

Update:  It appears that the original translation of the Japanese Capcom blog was in error.  Here is an update from Capcom regarding the health of Ono:

Regarding SFxT producer Ono, immediately after the SFxT announcement event
He quickly felt very sick and fainted.
He was brought to the hospital and currently isn't in a condition to come to work.
Happily, it hasn't ended up as being severe, so let's hope for a easy recuperation

See you next week!

What did you think of the Xbox One reveal?

It was awesome! I already have one pre-ordered!!
It could have been better, but I think there's potential.
Microsoft needs to get their shit together before I buy this thing.
This piece of junk is going to fail faster than Windows ME.
