In a new Nintendo Direct video, Nintendo of America President, Reggie Films-Aime, made a few announcements regarding the 3DS and Wii. Most notably was that The Last Story from developer Mistwalker, the studio founded by Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakguchi, will be coming to the U.S. this year, and will be published by XSEED Games. The Last Story was part of the three games that U.S. gamers had been demanding to be localized (The Last Story, Xenoblade Chronicles, Pandora’s Tower) causing the formation of Operation Rainfall.
Reggie also had an announcement regarding one of the other two games that is part of Operation Rainfall, Xenoblade Chronicles. Fans were given the chance to vote for the cover art they wanted to see for the game. After counting the votes, the fans selected the art below:

Other announcements included a release date for Mario Tennis Open, May 20th, a new tower defense game has been released today called Dillon’s Rollling Western, and more details about the upcoming Kid Icarus Uprising.
Kudos goes to Operation Rainfall for showing Nintendo that there was a demand for quality Wii titles. I guess now they can focus on that last title of theirs, Pandora’s Tower.
