Everyone expected the Wii U to be out this year, now Nintendo confirms those expectations. Nintendo President Satoru Iwata told reporters that the Wii U will be released at the end of the year in the U.S. and other key markets. In other Wii U news, CVG is reporting that sources close to Nintendo are saying that the Big N is looking to possibly scrap the Wii U name. On one hand, keeping the name of the best selling console is great for name recognition. Bad thing is that the Wii is quickly becoming a big paperweight for gamers, and a name change might be a step in the right direction to go away from the casualness of the Wii. I vote for the name change as the term Wii U is full of pretentiousness as Nintendo wants "U" to be part of the controller or whatever the hell clever gimmick they can think of this time around.
