Before the VGA's start, it was bound to happen that some of the trailers would get leaked. One of the big ones is this Metal Gear Rising Revengeance trailer that reveals quite a bit about the next entry in the Metal Gear franchise. In the trailer, we see Raiden doing his thing of slicing and dicing like he did in MGS 4. Plenty of action going on with only a few snippets of storyline here and there.
The big reveal about this trailer, however, is who is actually developing the game. Platinum Games - developer of Bayonetta, Vanquish, and Madworld - are taking the helm on this game which has had a slight name change from "Metal Gear Rising" to "Metal Gear Rising Revengeance." Kojima Production are taking the producer chair for this one. Seeing the action does remind me of the frantic gameplay that was seen in Bayonetta and Vanquish. It'll be interesting to see how this partnership turns out, It's one thing to have a Metal Gear game without Kojima at the helm, it's another to have a different developer create it altogether. Still, with a track record of quality that Platinum Games has, it's hard to find fault with the choice.
