About a week ago Sony released a teaser trailer for some mysterious new thing to be released/announced on October 5, 2011, which is today. So with out further ado, here is the trailer to whatever it was Sony is advertising:
Turns out it was just a commercial advertising the new "Long Live Play" campaign that was launched last month by returning VP of everything Kevin Butler. But this isn't just any commercial, this is an all star line up of some of Sony's best selling games, both third party and their own. Some of the most notable characters include:
- Nathan Drake (Uncharted)
- Lighting (Final Fantasy XIII)
- Kratos and Athena (God of War)
- Ghost (MW2)
- Rico and Helgan soliders (Killzone)
- Cole (inFamous)
- Snake (MGS)
- Issac Clark (Dead Space)
- Sackboy (LittleBig Planet)
- Chell (Portal 2)
- Paul Phoenix (Tekken)
- Sweet Tooth (Twisted Metal)
- Sgt. Patterson (Medal of Honor)
- Ezio (Assassins Creed II)
- Chimera (Resistance)
- Agent 47 (Hitman)
- Little Sister (BioShock)
This has to be one of the best commercials that I've seen in while. Besides having the voice actors actually dressed up as the characters they play as, the commercial is doing what Kevin Butler did during his bit at E3 2010. The commercial is celebrating the gamer as the driving force for these games. And without these gamers, Sony wouldn't be able to bring over such great game. To all of those who have battled gods and demons, terrorists who threaten peace, to those who think with portals and to those defending a world from invasion, Sony raises one to us.
