Celebrate Mario’s 25th anniversary with the Super Mario All Stars Wii collection
Posted on November 06, 2010 by Roy

After weeks of teasing Nintendo of America decided that the US should be a part of Mario’s 25th anniversary by releasing a special collection of Mario games. That collection is the re-release of Super Mario All Stars. For those who don’t know, back in 1993 Nintendo decided to put all of the NES Mario games in to one SNES cart. This resulted in the greatest compilation of all time, being able to play Super Mario 1 through 3 on the SNES and throwing in the Japanese Super Mario 2, known in the states as the Lost Levels. This Wii port of the original All Stars will not just only feature all four games, but a collectable art booklet detailing the history of the franchise, an anniversary red box cover with the game box having the All Stars Logo on it and a 25 track music cd spanning all the Mario game, from the first game to Super Mario Galaxy 2 composed and arranged by legendary composer Koji Kondo. Even though all the games are already out on the virtual console, for $29.99 it’s pretty good deal and really a must have for fans of Mario. But be sure to pick up a copy on December 12, the game is a limited edition and we probably won’t see another release till the 50th anniversary. Fans of Mario or people who love limited editions that come with extra stuff (like myself), will love getting this for their collection.

Is crowd funding the way of the future?

Absolutely. It gives power to the gamers by letting them pay for the games they want to see.
Nope. Crowd sourcing will be fine for a year or two until too many developers do not follow through with their games and waste our money.
