The Beatles: Rock Band Review

Now here's a band that deserves it's own game! Forty-three of the greatest Beatles songs throughout their career and one that you can buy for charity right off the bat (All you need is love). If your a hardcore rock band/Beatles lover like i am then you most surely should get this game. Harmonix has done a really great job of putting you into the Beatles career from a cavern to a big ass stadium that will drive you insane to the recording studio getting high as fuck!

All right then first off let's talk about gameplay. Let's face it the Beatles aren't the most hardcore guitar shredding drum soloing freaks in the world so for people that do nothing but sit at home and rape songs like me and my friends do then it is a very easy sometimes boring game. The guitar and bass are VERY BORING. Hammer on's and pull off's will take a while to get used to because it's like a mixture of GH2 and GH3 (sometimes they work sometimes they don't). It can be frustrating when your trying to full combo the achievement songs as you will learn. Drums are fun to play on most songs but are slow. Most of the beginning songs are the same drum line over and over again, but it's worth the wait to play the fun ones.

Vocals is where almost everyone will have fun though. Up to 3 people can sing at the same time. It doesn't matter who's singing what anyone can sing one part if they wish. You can also only have one person singing the solo's and the other people play the harmonies (whole point of harmony mode). Harmonix decided to put easy as the new beginner so you cant fail on it so people who like saying dirty crude things while singing enjoy! So if your looking for a fun easy game that your children will enjoy this is that game. Its very simple and that will make kids want to play it more.

Now instead of career mode there's a story mode that takes you through the Beatles career by going to various venues that appeared in the Beatles life. Including the studio where they liked to get really really REALLY high. The dreamscapes are a result of that. They really get you into that Beatles mood of playing and is very appealing to look at. You'll probably miss a few notes looking at the background because its that just that freaking cool. Harmonix did a superb job at capturing and reanimating what the Beatles were thinking for the songs as well. There is a challenge mode just as rock band 2 had and you play every venue all the way through to get more pics of the Beatles. Not something needed more just giving you something to do.

Now I'm an achievement whore so I'm going to tell you now my fellow whores you will have to work for those achievements. Make sure you read them before you just go start playing so you know what to do. Most of them are get expert gold stars on a set of songs and expert gold star 100% with a certain instrument so be on your A game when you get it. This is definitely not just your average go rent a game get lots of achievement points game so don't treat it that way.

For the most part this game is just to show off the awesomeness of the Beatles and i think overall it did just that. Nothing but a game full of fun to listen to but not to fun to play songs. I give The Beatles Rock Band an 8 out of 10.
