House of the Dead III Review

House of the Dead 3 was first released in the arcades in 2002, then ported to the Xbox in 2003. The story lets some time pass after HotD 2. Zombies have come back and an aging Agent G along with the daughter of Agent Rogan, Lisa Rogan, set out to stop the zombie madness once again. This time around, little cinematic sequences shown that this whole abomination began before the Curien Mansion incident of HotD1.

The graphics are big and bold, going together well with the game's over-the-top nature. The crazy zombie cop looking thing that chases you throughout the first level is just the beginning of the craziness.

Music is pretty bland, but dramatic when necessary. You'll definitely notice it, whether you like it or not. The same bad voice acting returns let's face it, we wouldn't have it any other way.

HotD 3 is a little different with the whole alternate paths tool. Previous games which used this mechanic sadly only led to more treasure or a few more enemies to kill. Not exactly compelling. HotD3, on the other hand, lets you choose what level you want once you reach the elevator in the lab. You will still have to complete all levels, but it's still a choice.

While incredibly short, although it makes perfect sense since it's an arcade game, House of the Dead 3 has other modes available such a Training mode and Boss Mode. Being that the game is an arcade game, the game is about getting the highest score and the game rewards you accordingly. There's a lot of unlockables making it worthwhile to beat it over and over again.
