Everquest II goes free-to-play on Dec. 6th

SOE is taking one of their biggest MMORPGs and making it free. After DC Universe Online went free-to-play and saw a 700% increase in daily revenue, SOE is set to make Everquest II free-to-play. Released back in 2004, EQ2 has always been second fiddle to the incredibly popular World of Warcraft yet had a strong enough subscriber base to survive these past 7 years. Last year, SOE released EQ2 Extended which brought in some free-to-play options, but not to the extent of the changes coming which are similar to DC Universe Online. The newest expansion pack, Age of Discovery, is also set to release on Dec. 6th.
