Who says the Japanese don't like FPS games?  This past week, Modern Warfare 3 on the PS3 - cause the Xbox 360 is not doing so hot there...or not at all being that it was discontinued  - debuted that #1 on the Media Create sales charts beating out the latest game based on the One Piece anime.  Actually, this is not the first time a Call of Duty game was #1 in Japan as last year Black Ops did the same feat.  Other notable Western games that made the top 20 in sales were Saints Row: The Third and Halo: Combat Anniversary.

While many would like to think that the Japanese have a very narrow taste in their games, it seems that they are slowly learning to enjoy games from the West.  Hell, the Grand Theft Auto series has done fairly well in Japan with GTA IV reached the top spot when it was released.  Could Japan be a country full of FPS fans soon or is this merely a case of them getting the residual hype from us over here in the U.S.?  Can't say for sure right now, but hey, I'm sure this will make those FPS haters go crazy.
